The Wayne County Sheriff's Office-Reserve Division
The Reserve Division of the Wayne County Sheriff Office is made up of a diverse group of individuals with professional backgrounds and talents.
To assure the highest quality and professional officers, all Reserve Officers must graduate from an 18-week Reserve Officers Training Academy. Those attending the academy are selected from applications that have been submitted.
After graduating from the academy, sworn reserve officers will work in various divisions based on that persons interests, qualifications and the needs of the Reserve Division. Our officers work a wide variety of duties, ranging from special community events to more highly specialized assignments, based on the Sheriff's Office needs.
Similar to the full-time department, we are a paramilitary operation. We have our own command structure, led by Reserve Deputy Chief Steve Stewart. We report directly to the Office's Chief Deputy and Sheriff Warren Evans. The "Chain Of Command" is listed under the area OUR MISSION. Or for more information about how you can possible become a reserve deputy, click on "Join the Reserves"
