  • The Wayne County Sheriff's Office-Reserve Division

Thank you for visiting the official website of the Reserve Division of the Wayne County, Michigan Sheriff's Office.

The Reserve Division of the Wayne County Sheriff Office is made up of a diverse group of individuals with professional backgrounds and talents.

To assure the highest quality and professional officers, all Reserve Officers must graduate from an 10-week Reserve Officers Training Academy. Those attending the academy are selected from applications that have been submitted.

After graduating from the academy, sworn reserve officers will work in various divisions based on that persons interests, qualifications and the needs of the Reserve Division. Our officers work a wide variety of duties, ranging from community events to more highly specialized assignments such as special enforcement sweeps, the abandoned vehicle unit, or other units, all of which are based on the Sheriff's Office needs.

Similar to the full-time department, we are a paramilitary operation led by Reserve Deputy Chief Steve Stewart. We report directly to the Office's Chief of Operations, the Undersheriff and Sheriff. The "Chain Of Command" is listed under the area OUR MISSION. Or for more information about how you can possibly become a Reserve Deputy, click on "Join the Reserves" at the top of this page.

If you have questions after reviewing our website, you may email Reserve Deputy Chief Steve Stewart at: sstewart@wayneco-sr.com.
